song of the day: "you may be right" by Billy Joel (again)

Just so you know, I will no longer be posting lyrics to songs. I will just add them to my playlist (found under "Music!" if you couldn't figure that out for yourself). :D
Anyways, this is the song of the day because I've had like 3 people tell me I'm weird and/or crazy today. I asked them "how so?" and they all said "you just are." Well, I have never been not weird (or "normal") so I have no evidence to prove or disprove this. So the line from this song that applies is "you may be right, I may be crazy". Gotta love Billy Joel.
So, what to blog about... well, here are random facts from the past 24 hours or so:
-Last night, I had a dream that me and one of my friends from school were defusing a bomb together. Then we changed a light bulb.
-Today, I witnessed a murder. But it's okay, it was for Forensic Science class.
-My sister is sitting next to me, singing a Billy Joel song at this very moment. She doesn't even know that I'm blogging about Billy Joel. Sadly, she is not singing "you may be right" she is singing "only the good die young".
-I am in a conversation with the 4th person to call me crazy today. He is trying to convince me that I *am* crazy. So I'm quoting Billy Joel at him.
-My sister just asked me an impossible question: who is better, Billy Joel or Kenny Rogers? There is no way of answering that. Unfair question.
Yeah this is randomness. Blah blah blah blah blah. Blah.
Okay, I'm gonna stop wasting your time with this blog now. If you took the time to read it, you get a shiny gold star :) Byes!!

First Day Of School!!!! ^.^

My first day was bad at first, but then it got really awesome ^.^
First thing in the morning when I got there, I found out I was switching out of my homeroom!!! This upset me deeply because I love the kids in my homeroom, I love my homeroom teacher, and my homeroom teacher loves me. So I was upset to be switched out. To make things worse, I was in the new math teacher's homeroom!!! She seemed nice, but also boring.
Then, I looked at my schedule, and it had me down for 10th grade English B on second quarter, but no 10th grade English A. So I though I would have to drop Forensic Science, which I've been looking forward to taking, and this is the last year they are offering it at my school. So I was very depressed.
Then I had to sit on the floor at lunch cuz they didn't have enough tabels for all of us.
But right before my next class, my old homeroom teacher told me that not only did she get me into English later so I could take Forensic Science, but she got me switched back to her homeroom!!!! I was so happy!!! ^.^ Then I got a free soda

just a random thought...

Ok. So, as I'm sure you all know, when bands do covers of songs, most of the time they suck massively. However, every once in a while, you find a cover that is as good as or even better than the original. So, since I'm in kind of a list-writing mood, I'm going to list both of these.

Covers Of Songs That Are As Good As The Originals
-bowling for soup's version of "sick of myself" by Matthew Sweet (the Matthew Sweet version is on my playlist on here, because I couldn't find the cover(
-bowling for soup's version of "I melt with you" by Modern English (the bowling for soup version is on my playlist because I love the kazoo part :) but it was a tough decision between this version and the original... i love them both)
-New Found Glory's version of "the king of wishful thinking" by go west (new found glory version on my playlist, because i love new found glory )
New Found Glory's version of "the promise" by when in rome (neither version is on my playlist because i couldnt find it XP sadly)
-amber pacific's version of "video killed the radio star" by the buggles (both versions are on my playlist!!!!! did you know that this was the first song ever played on MTV??? back when they still played music instead of reality shows??? plus its on the empire records soundtrack... okay maybe the original is a bit better :D but the amber pacific version is close)
-simple plan's version of "happy together" by the turtles (simple plan version is on my playlist)
-bowling for soup's version of "baby one more time" by britney spears (original is on my playlist... to be honest, i think the reason why the cover is as good as the original is because it is pretty much impossible to ruin this song :) i love britney, even if she is crazy)

Covers Of Songs That Are BETTER Than The Original

-The Maine's version of "pour some sugar on me" by Deff Leopard (cover is on my playlist because it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John O. is incredible and also my future husband... or he would be if there wasn't like a 6 year age difference between us :P plus, honestly, i think id be happier with pat... only a 4 year age difference, and he is equally adorable! okay enough ranting about The Maine...)
-Life On Repeat's version of "party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus (Life On Repeat version is on my playlist of course!)
-Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version of "where do broken hearts go?" by Whitney Houston (Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version is on my playlist. Whitney Houston makes me gag, to be honest)

and i also feel it is necessary to write...

Most Epic Cover Fails Of All Time
-The Grateful Dead's version of "Me and Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin (I love the dead with all my heart. I'm a huge deadhead... but really, what were they thinking? whos idea was this? Not Jerry's idea, I'm sure. He was smarter than that. No one can sing Janis Joplin except Janis Joplin)
-any cover of "soak up the sun" by Sheryl Crow (Really?!? I hated the original version of this song. Yet I've heard about 5 covers of it, and they all suck. Why do people cover this song?? Why?)
-Deathcab for cutie's version of "sick of myself" by Matthew Sweet (failure.)
-Cartel's version of "wonderwall" by oasis (they totally messed up the words!!!! plus the original version was already amazing!!! how did they think they could possibly improve it??? original is in my playlist :) love that song)
-never shout never's version of "bohemian rhapsody" by Queen ( I love never shout never, but this is another one of those songs that can't be covered. original is on my playlist)
-bedlight for blue eyes's version of "jumper" by third eye blind (no one messes with third eye blind. no one.)

well now that ive cleared that up... im gonna go do something even less productive XD
-Ezi :)

Epic Failure.

Ok, so my mom asked me to go to the store with her. I had just woken up from a nap and was still wearing my pajamas. I didn't feel like changing, so I just went in my pajamas, figuring the odds of me running into anyone I knew were low.
So, of course, I ran into someone I know from school XP
Isn't it weird how when we leave the house looking particularly embarrassing we always run into people we know, yet when we leave the house looking normal or even good, we never do? It's similar to when you're home alone and catch something thats falling using ninja-like reflexes, and then are annoyed that no one was around to see it.
Well that's all XD
-Ezi :)

This is why people shouldn't make radio edits of songs...

So I was messing around on itunes and I saw that they made a radio-friendly edit of "Semi-Charmed Life" by third eye blind. If you've ever heard that song, you know that its terrifically catchy and fun to listen to... but if you've ever really listened to the lyrics, then you know it's all about drugs and sex. So, of course, when I found out that there was a radio-friendly version I was curious...
It turns out, they took out none of the really bad parts, but only cut out the second half of the bridge. DUMB!!!!
Anyways, right now I am creating a playlist which will include all of the songs which I have put lyrics to up on this blog, plus a lot of other songs that I really like :) I will put it on my blog, as soon as I figure out how XP
Well that was a bit random...
Bye!

Minnesota State Fair!!!!!!!!!! (fake enthusiasm)

So yesterday I did one of the dumbest things I've ever done: I went to the state fair with my grandma... at 5 in the morning. My grandma talked me into it months ago, and I agreed... not smart. So we got there, ate breakfast (which tasted like crap by the way) and then wandered around aimlessly for three hours because, although the actual fair opens at 6 am, theres nothing to do until 9 am. so...
total amount of hours spent at the fair: 6. Walking non-stop. Feet very sore.
number of things eaten on a stick: 2. Both times vegetables. (I don't eat meat)
number of things eaten that were deep-fried: 2.
number of healthy things eaten: 1 (corn!)
number of healthy things actually sold at the fair: 1 (corn again. Even the pickles were deep-fried)
number of Minnesotan accents heard: countless.
so heres how me and my sister passed the three hours we spent wandering... we randomly said "hi" to a ton of people. Lots said hi back. Most just gave us Looks. Minnesota nice my butt.
So in case you were ever wondering "I wonder what its like to wake up before the sun is up on one of my last days of summer and go to the Minnesota state fair"... now you know.
Blerghh I have to go. More non-fair-related things later. Bye!

song of the day: "you may be right" by Billy Joel

I like Billy Joel and I'm not embarrassed to say it XD

"you may be right" lyrics

Friday night I crashed your party
Saturday I said I'm sorry
Sunday came and trashed it out again
I was only having fun
Wasn't hurting anyone
And we all enjoyed the weekend for a change

I've been stranded in the combat zone
I walked through Bedford Stuy alone
Even rode my motorcycle in the rain
And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
So you said that only proves that I'm insane

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just might be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

Remember how I found you there
Alone in your electric chair
I told you dirty jokes until you smiled
You were lonely for a man
I said take me as I am
'Cause you might enjoy some madness for a while

Now think of all the years you tried to
Find someone to satisfy you
I might be as crazy as you say
If I'm crazy then it's true
That it's all because of you
And you wouldn't want me any other way

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
It's too late to fight
It's too late to change me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
You may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right (x6, fades away)

song of the day: "nobody puts baby in a corner" by fall out boy

I love this song :)

"nobody puts baby in a corner"

Drink down that Gin and Kerosene,
And come spit on bridges with me,
Just to keep us warm.
Light a match to leave me be.
Light a match to leave me be.

I keep my jealousy close,
'Cause it's all mine.
And if you say this makes you happy,
Then I'm not the only one lying.

[Chorus: x2]
Keep quiet,
Nothing comes as easy as you.
Can I lay in your bed all day?
I'll be your best kept secret
And your biggest mistake.
The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day.

I keep my jealousy close,
'Cause it's all mine.
And if you say this makes you happy,
Then I'm not the only one lying.

Drink down that Gin and Kerosene,
And come spit on bridges with me,
Just to keep us warm (Just to keep us warm)
Light a match to leave me be.
Light a match to leave me...

[Chorus x2]

So wear me like a locket around your throat.
I'll weigh you down.
I'll watch you choke.
You look so good in blue.
You look so good in blue.
[x3]
[During 3rd repeat:]
(Keep quiet,
Nothing comes as easy as you.
Can I lay in your bed all day?)

[Chorus x3]
