Last day of 2010!!!

Is anyone else SO ready for this year to be over???

Bad things that happened in 2010
-Friend of mine died
-My beloved kitty Clover, whom I've had since I was 2, died of oral cancer :(
R.I.P. Ryon and Clover. I miss both of you.
-Quite a few awkward encounters with a certain friend of mine (don't want to go into detail about it)
-My friend with the big fluffy hair decided to cut it so it's no longer big nor fluffy!!!
(I saw him last sunday and it was still big and fluffy.... Maybe he'll change his mind?)
-Lots of previously really close friends underwent drastic personality changes and became entirely different people.

A summary. Too depressing to continue.

To balance things out, I'll also make...

Good things that happened in 2010
-Lots of my friends may have changed, but I'm still pretty much the same.
-I discovered The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
-Some pretty decently catchy music was written (with the exception of Justin Beiber)
-Recieved massive boquet of flowers form a mysterious person on my birthday! I still have no clue who sent them...

I miss 2009. That was a great year.

Great things that happened in '09
-LEFT MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Started high school at the BEST high school EVER!
-Met some really amazing people, including my friend with the big fluffy hair, a ton of the people who have now gone through a major personality change and are different but at the time they were awesome, my friend Zoe, the adorable Tommy, HANTHON!, and too many more to list!
-Last year with Ryon. Will remember it because of that, if for no other reason.
-Had first real boyfriend, first date, first slow dance, first hand-holding, first kiss, etc... ;)
-I quit biting my nails for the first time that year!!!! Since I have started and quit many more times, but this was the first year that I accomplished it :) I made it like three months too.
-Before I let said middle school, I beat the school record for "most digits of pi memorized" for the second year in a row, but this time I had DOUBLED the past record!!!! In 6th my math teacher told me that he had never seen a student go over 50, but on pi day I only made it to 48. SO CLOSE!!!! Then the next year I was in the 60s, and in 8th grade I made it to-wait for it-111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt SO COOL!!!! My math teacher put my name up in the hall in front of his room for the rest of the year :)

AHAHAAHA!!! Yeah, that was a good year :)
I hope 2011 is as god as 2009 was...

How was everyone else's year?

He's a cold-hearted snake, look into his eyes...

that song is stuck in my head :P

Okay so I have had the craziest past 36 hours or so. My mom mad me go to some church lock-in thing (Never again. Never ever again going to one of those things.) at which I knew no one, and was the only one who slept at all (for a total of two hours, waking up every half hour or so). Was the least fun I have had in a long time. Plus, for some reason we ended up watching the movie Seven Pounds, which is massively depressing. Ended up going home and sleeping for about three hours before grandma came to pick me up. Went to grandmas house, got into fight over Asian food, and then turned on tv and crashed on her couch for the next 4 hours. Both of us pretended the fight had never happened. She drove me home, my mother (whom I love and get along with MUCH better than my grandma) brought me to Jamba Juice, and now I'm sitting at home, listening to music and drinking my Jamba Juice. Life is great when you're not at a church lock in. With 30 people you don't know.
I have my own version of a church lock-in which I find to be much more fun. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's in the spring, it's at a hotel, and I actually KNOW people and the people I don't know are willing to get to know other people, and you aren't obligated to stay up all night long (but most of us end up staying up 'till around 4 am anyway). And it's not FREEZING like that stupid church was.
Anyways, now I'm wide awake and starving so I'm gonna go eat. How was everyone else's night?

Sunday, December 26, 2010

he says she's no good with words, but I'm worse...

There's something wrong here.
My winter break is half over already.
I've done some mildly exciting things. I hung out with Jude, which is always fun; I performed two monologues; I got some wicked presents; today I hung out with my friend with the big fluffy hair (He hasn't cut his hair all short yet!!! It's still big and fluffy!!!!!!!!!); re-discovered some songs I haven't listened to in a while; and I spent like $35 on books today (gotta love gift cards!).
But I haven't once stayed out all night.

The longest I ever stayed out was when I was 14. Me and my friend went to the Forever The Sickest Kids concert, and unfortunately we didn't plan very well for our ride home because we ended up stuck in downtown, cold and hungry, till around 3:30 am. But sometime in the middle of that a Red Bull car showed up and started giving out free Red Bulls, so we got all psyched up on caffeine and that made us significantly less grumpy about the situation. Then we stopped at Taco Bell for dinner, and when we eventually did get back to her house (around 4:45) we decided we wanted to pull an all-nighter, so we had her bro take us on a snack run, and went to the park across the street from her house. We came home and fell asleep around 6.

The most recent case of staying out way too late was when I went to go see The Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight with my friend Zoe. We got home around 2 and went to bed around 6:30 am.
But on winter break so far I have gotten to bed around midnight every night and woken up no later than nine.
What gives???????????????????
Well tonight I am determined to screw up my sleeping schedule. I will stay up till at least 2 reading one of my new books.
But I still won't be really doing anything of interest... sigh...
Actually I'm getting pretty tired... what time is it now?
Midnight. On the dot.
I can last at least another hour, right?
I will not waste this break by being responsible.

Ooooooooh, what's the fun in playing it safe?

I have...
-3 sketch books
-2 note books
-a bunch of new Gelly Rolls
-a gift certificate to an art supplies store
-My camera back
-...and no inspiration at all :P

I hate it when I'm not inspired to draw or write or do anything of that sort. It makes everything seem dismal and meaningless to me. Sigh...

And now for the down side...

The down side of christmas in my family: going to church.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against church. Well, except for the fact that my church is BEYOND boring.Well
But at the moment the problem is that my mom won't let me wear my new grinch pajamas and Snuggie to church (I had to take off the Snuggie!!! NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!) And she's making me wear the clothes my sisters grandma sent me for christmas *lightning crashes, dramatic music plays*
Here's the deal: My religion is quaker, even though I go to a methodist church (it's where my family goes and the quaker church isn't within walking distance of my house sadly).
That DOES NOT mean I have a desire to dress like how they portray quakers and other good-girl religious girls on TV.
Yet my sisters grandma doesn't seem to get that.
And my mom actually makes me wear the clothes she sends me.
Which basically means lots of beige.

Here's what I'm wearing to church:
*shudders*
So unflattering. So boring. Ugh.
On the bright side, right after church we're going to my grandmas house and my mom said I can leave my new Grinch pajamas and my snuggie in the car and change into them when we get to her house :)
Well I'm off to take pictures of stuff. Byes.

Did you write the book of love, and do you have faith in god above?

I know all the words to the song "Miss American pie" Which I am quite prod of because that song is like ten minutes long.

I love christmas so so much!!!!!!
-I found my camera that my sister had stolen, and then I found my cord that plugs it into the computer so I could get them off of my camera without my sister killing me for deleting the pictures she had taken (which were basically lots of pictures of our cats) So you can expect more pictures from me :D
-My friend with the big fluffy hair loved what I got for him!!!!! :D We were talking on the phone when he opened it so... yeah :D I'm extremely happy about that.
-$30 of itunes money :D
-new gelly roll pens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-MY SNUGGIE IS AMAZING!!!!! I don't care that I look like a total dweeb, it's like the most comfortable thing ever :)
-I got a new watch so now I dont have to waste my ipod battery by turning it on every five seconds to check what time it is :)

I hope everyone else is having an excellent christmas too!!!!!!!!

100th post!/Merry Christmas

So guess what???
THIS IS MY 100TH POST!!!
But wait, there's more!!

It's also Christmas eve!!
My family opens presents on Christmas eve, then Santa comes on Christmas day :D
So here are a few of the amazing things I got:
-A PURPLE SNUGGIE from my mommy! (ILY MOM!)
-New headphones, also from my mom!!!
-A sock monkey (whom I STILL haven't found the perfect name for...) from Jude :)
-Every School House Rock ever made (HELLZ YEAH!)

Then later I'm going to my grandmas house where I will get presents from my other family members :)
Here's a pic of me wearing my snuggie, with my headphones and sock monkey (whom I might name patrick.... It was my auntie's imaginary friend when she was little, it's the actor who played Johnny Castle in dirty dancing, and I have a friend named patrick... hmmm...)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Cyndi Lauper

this song makes me smile :)

every who down in whoville, the tall and the small, was singing with no presents at all :)

It came without ribbons!
It came without tags!
It came without packages, boxes or bags!!!!

"Maybe christmas" he thought, "doesn't come from the store.
Maybe christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."

That was just on tv, and my pastor AND my grandma-both of whom talk A LOT-decided to call at that time!!!!!! grrrrr!!!!!

Well, for those of you who missed it on tv, here it is:

Needless to say, this is the ORIGINAL cartoon one, the GOOD one, NOT the Jim Carrey one!

And now here are they lyrics to the grinch song :)

You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch

You're a mean one, Mister Grinch
You really are a heel,
You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Mister Grinch,

You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel!

You're a monster, Mister Grinch,
Your heart's an empty hole,
Your brain is full of spiders, you've got garlic in your soul, Mister Grinch,

I wouldn't touch you with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole!

You're a vile one, Mister Grinch,
You have termites in your smile,
You have all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile, Mister Grinch,

Given a choice between the two of you I'd take the ... seasick crocodile!

You nauseate me, Mister Grinch,
With a nauseous super "naus",
You're a crooked dirty jockey and you drive a crooked hoss, Mister Grinch,

You're a three decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich, with arsenic sauce!

You're a foul one, Mister Grinch,
You're a nasty wasty skunk,
Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your soul is full of gunk, Mister Grinch,

The three words that describe you are as follows, and I quote, "Stink, Stank, Stunk!"

You're a rotter, Mister Grinch,
You're the king of sinful sots,
Your heart's a dead tomato splotched with moldy purple spots, Mister Grinch,

Your soul is an appalling dump heap overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of rubbish imaginable, mangled up in tangled up knots!

I am feeling SO christmas-y right now :)

first day of break!

okay so i tried to do a post about my last day before break, but then this site stopped working for me for no reason *mad face*
So, out of total boredon, I created a tumblr account.

so far I have nothing of much interest on it... mostly the random crap that spills out of my brain.
but who knows, it might become immensely interesting.

Well on my last day of break, I did not much of interest. I had to do push-ups for swearing, I watched several cheesy holiday movies, including one VERY politically incorrect one from the '50s, saw teachers in ugly holiday sweaters, ate 4 candy canes and countless pieces of chocolate, got free cookies, drew a "happy nondenominational winter holiday!" mural on a whiteboard, saw david bisbal lift up his shirt (then re-wound it and watched it again, at the request of a bunch of freshmen girls... listen to this song if you don't know who david bisbal is: Ave Maria by David Bisbal), came home to the fire alarm going off, meaning my mom was making a frozen pizza, napped for two hours, saw a guy who looks EXACTLY like Adam Brody, talked to guy I have mild crush on (haven't mentioned him on here yet) talked to friend with big fluffy hair, sang songs until about 1:30 am, went to sleep.
My first day of break will probably consist of me drawing, reading and putting away laundry. Grrr. I wish I had thought to make some plans...

Rant time!!!

Okay so I just got back from my little sisters band concert.
It was at the same middle school that I went to... in the same auditorium I used to have choir concerts in... so... many... painful... memories...
But that's not the point of this blog post.
See, there was this floutist who was slouching the entire time!!!!!
Floutists are supposed to sit up straight for the same reason that singers are supposed to sit up straight. Slouching squishes up all of the organs that you need to breathe-diaphragm, lungs, etc.-and you need to breathe to play the flute!!!!!!!! and you need to be able to breathe WELL!!!!!!! It can't be all constricted-sounding. Then the music just sounds messed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is kind of a pet peeve of mine.
GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
Anyways, thats all I have to say.

Dammit, Janet.

So today I had the vocal and acting audition for Rocky Horror. I sang "Somewhere that's green" from "Little shop of horrors".
Here's how that went down:
Okay so I was in a group with two of my friends, and we went over our songs together, and that was okay. I mean, I had to do it a couple of times before it sounded decent, but it ended up sounding okay.
Then we got into the room.
So my other two friends did pretty much AMAZING. The first ones voice cracked once, but she recovered from it fairly well. The second one went flat a couple of times, but again she recovered from it really well.
Then it was my turn.
I started singing. At first it was going okay, then my voice cracked-just once, and just for like a second. I was like "just keep going".
Then it cracked again.
"It's fine. Just keep going"
Then again. And again. And again.
At that point the Voice of Reason in my head started yelling "WRAP IT UP! WRAP IT UP! JUST GET IT OVER WITH!" And that's when I sped up a little too much. I totally was off from the music for about the next ten seconds, then I fixed it just in time for the end.
Ugh.
But the acting part went well.

Well no sense stressing about things I have zero control over, right?

There's always the next show...

Meh.

While I wallow in pain and self-pity, watch this video.

Damn, Tim Curry has terrific legs.

Oh well. The show probably won't be that good anyway. Rocky just isn't Rocky without Tim Curry in his fishnets and Patricia Quinn with her big hair and the lips that mouth "Science Fiction/Double Feature" and all the costumed freaks yelling the lines and throwing toast
(especially at the end when they yell "DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN'T USE YOUR PHONE?" XD And all the comments about the narrators neck?? And the REAL versions of "science fiction/double feature" and "Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Touch me" and "Eddie" which I won't even type here because it will surely freak out Jude? No. It just wouldn't be the same).
Sigh...

time meant nothing, never would again...

So my dance audition was today.
It. Was. TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So okay here's the deal: I'm short. There are lots of tall people at my school. And there were 80 people auditioning!!!!!!!
80 people!!!!!!!! There are only like 300 people in the entire school!!!!!!! Thats more than 1/4 of the school!!!!!!!!
So I'm short, and so is my friend Zoe, and somehow we were pushed to the back of the group. BAD!!!!!!!! So the chick is up there going like "okay so do this thing with your arms for 8 counts, then do this popping thing for 4 counts, then this pose-y thing for 4 more counts, then hop like this, then twist one foot like this, then do the popping thing again but really fast and jerk-y for 8 counts, then this spinning shimmy thing, then this weird hoping shuffle thing, then somethkng that sponebob did once, then more razy spinning and hopping and shuffling, then... LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!!!"
Excuse me, but WHAT???
No! This is how you do the time warp:
It's just a jump to the left...
and then a step to the ri-i-i-i-ight.
Put your hands on your hips...
and bring your knees in ti-i-ight!
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insa-a-a-a-ane...
LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!!!
Watch this video for an even better idea:

See? I can do THAT time warp perfectly well!!!!! But whatever they were making us do was a thousand times more complicated!!!!!!
Anyways, me and Zoe (whos even shorter than me) couldnt see a thing!!! We only picked up about half of the dance!!!!!
So then we broke into a bunch of groups and went into the hall to practice. I was in group number seven out of eight so we had LOTS of time... and believe me, we put it to good use. We had a kid who is an actual dancer show us how to do it (again) and we went over it with him like ten times, and we practiced it like twenty times, but it was really long and complicated, but we did the best we could, and by the end we could do it looking only somewhat pathetic.
Then came time to actually do it for the people.
So basically heres what happened: we get into the room, and they say "okay, so four of you go in a semi circle around the others, and you all do the eight count arm thing, but then the bac row snaps like this and the front row time warps, then you switch. Okay?" Then I made it through the pose-y part, then I got lost. So I use the mirrored wall to look at Paige, who's looking at Marissa or Miranda or whatever her name was, who's a dancer so I was surprised to see that she was just as lost as me and Paige. We stood there for about thirty seconds, just looking at each other in the mirrors, then we basically started moving our arms and hips randomly, big cheesy smiles on our faces, ad then we faded to the back and let the others go. I have no clue how the did, the only thing I could think was "crap. crap. crap."
My acting and singing audition is tomorrow, and I'm hoping to do really good on those, and that if I do an amazing, fantastic job, that it'll make up (at least somewhat) for my suckish dance audition.
Basically, I need a miracle.
But crazier things have happened...
I'm off to drink some tea with honey and lemon juice. And maybe drink a glass of chocolate milk. No dairy for me tomorrow... Might as well enjoy it while I can.
Please send positive thoughts my way tomorrow around 4:00-4:15 (thats right, I'm staying after for an hour and a half for this audition. The things I do for Rocky). It will be greatley appreciated!!

...

Okay, so as a general rule, I tend to nap a lot in winter, and I often have some really wild dreams...
Well when I woke up from a nap this afternoon, my mom and sister informed me that I was talking in my sleep... in Spanish :/
I speak Spanish, but I'm not fluent or anything, so I found this weird...
So, as I do with most weird things, I asked my friend with the big fluffy hair about it, because he knows a lot about, well, everything. He speaks German-even better than I can speak Spanish, and I'm a TA for the freshmen spanish class- and he tells me that he dreams in English, but speaks German in his sleep all the time...
Anyone know why that is?

Even though theres no way of knowing...

...where to go, I promise I'm going because IIIII gotta get outta heereee...
(be my escape by relient k)
TODAY I GET TO LEAVE THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom said I could stay home, but I was like "hell no!!!! I've been in this house for two days straight and I NEED to leave cuz im going crazy!!!! hand me my pants!!!!! I'm outta here!!!!!!" Which is why I'm skipping make up, hair and spending like twenty minues on an outfit only to get frustrated and throw on something ridiculous, in favor of leaving early and getting breakfast at mconalds!

Winter in Minnesota. Yippee.

So I've spent the last two days snowed in. So I decided to make this list:

Things to do when snowed in, and why they rock:

-youtube karaoke.
The general rule of karaoke is that it doesn't matter if you're the best singer in the world or the worst-it's how much you get into it that makes it good or bad. A great karaoke song, whether you do it at an actual karaoke place or at home alone when you're going a little bit crazy from not being able to leave the house, is "Jesse's girl" its really easy to get into XD

-watch people trying to get their car out of huge snow piles
While saying things like "come on! you can do it!" and cheering enthusiastically when they finally do get out :D

-write songs
Or if, like me, you don't really write your own music, just take a song that actually exists and change the lyrics.

-read old diaries
and laugh at how immature you were back then

-call a friend who is also snowed in
and complain together. Misery loves company.

-organize your socks
...if you're really that desperate for entertainment.

-check out what the weather's like in South Beach, Miami right now
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, it would be south beach. Ugh.

I'm actually super psyched for school tomorrow, because it means I get to leave the house!

WATCH THIS NOW!!!

Omigod!
In history we were learning about the vietnam war and I thought about this episode of hey arnold (coincidentally, it's the christmas special) which I hadnt seen in years and I HAD to watch it again!!! It made me cry!!!!! So here it is :) i know the opening credits and all the words written anywhere are backwards, but whatever, its still sweet and adorable :)

part 1

part 2

part 3

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Saturday, December 11, 2010

What do you say we leave for California? If we drive all night, we can make it by the morning.

That's it. I'm running away to Miami.

So, for those of you who don't know, today in this lovely state we call Minnesota, we had the biggest blizzard since 1991.
Dangerous for several reasons!!!!!!
So today I went outside to attempt to help dig my friend Nikki's car out of a huge snow pile, and it was freaking insane!!!!!!!!! The second we got back inside my mom started freaking out.
Whats even scarier:
I was so cold I thought I would go take a shower to thaw. The water wasnt even that hot... but the temperature change made me so dizzy that I totally almost passed out!
After that I was so tired that I just slept for like three hours.
So then I told two of my friends that we should all run away to miami, and one of them was like "lets do it!" but then the other one (the friend with the big fluffy hair) pointed out that none of us have weather-appropriate clothes because theyre in storage, and all we have are sweaters and jeans.
Plus we dont have swim suits, and no one is dumb enough to sell swimsuits in winter in minnesota, so wed have to buy swimsuits when we get to miami, so wed most likely end up in a bikini (me) and a speedo (him).
Which led to some very disturbing mental images :/
I was supposed to do a monologue tomorrow (a christmas thing that was very widely advertised) but it was canceled because of the ridiculous weather (which is kind of a good thing because it was a really difficult monologue because it was written by some sunday school teacher in like the 60s and i wasnt feeling too confident about it...)
So anyways heres a song that i was singing while trying to free Nikki's car from that giant pile of snow:

Monday, December 6, 2010

If your life had a face, I would punch it. I would punch you life in the face.

Don't you love it when you bond with people over a mutual hate over another person/thing?
It makes that person/thing much more tolerable.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Oh, darling, I wish you were here.

Today would have been Ryon's 18th birthday.
I miss you. Happy birthday.

Today my plans are:
-read "through the looking glass" again :)
I love that book.
One of my favorite quotes comes from that book.
"Alice: One can't believe impossible things.
White Queen: Why, Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
Alice in wonderland rules.
I must say this though: as much as I love the Tim Burton version with Johnny Depp, I like the cartoon one best.
The song "follow me down" by 3Oh!3 was written for that movie!!!!!! Its on my playlist. Go listen to it.

Fan art time!!!

FANTABULOUS NEWS!!!!!!

IM GONNA START PLAYING THE FLUTE AGAIN!!!!!! :D
okay sooooooooooo my lil sis is playing clarinet in band and i was looking through her clarinet book and there was a fingering chart on the back page and i asked her if she could hook me up with one for flute and she asked her band teacher and he said id have to pay for a whole book but it was only a few bucks so i did it and then my auntie has a flute that she never plays and she said I could borrow/steal it as soon as she gets it back from her friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
