Train Tracks

I drew this today.

The idea came to me earlier during IPC while I was super tired and almost dozed off a couple of times before I started one of my insane doodle pages for my friend who sits by me because me and him were both having really surreal mornings (it featured a crazy-looking guy with creepy eyes, an "alice in wonderland" quote, and Elvis Costello quote of course, and an Ozzy Ozbourne quote from "crazy train" along with a melting clock because thats just kind of a symbol of surreal things). And then when I got home after making up a big stack of geometry assignments (I dont want to talk about that. Too traumatizing.), I started to doodle another train and about 30 minutes later I had this.

It looks a lot better in person.

Anyway I've been thinking about the train tracks all day... I'm wondering if maybe it symbolizes something? Anyone know?

I'll figure it out somehow. I have a friend whos mom is really into symbolism and stuff like that so I think I can just ask her.

And now I REALLY have to get some sleep because I'm about to fall out of my spinny chair because I'm so tired. Goodnight! I hope you like my drawing! (I know its not a very original idea...)

An odd day... (WARNING: contains an Italian work of art including a nude model... I don't want any immature comments)

So today I skipped school to go to an art museum with my moms college drawing class which was AMAZING! We went to see the Titian exhibit at the art institute which was really cool :)

Here's one of my favorites because even though it doesn't look like anything too exciting when you see it here, in real life its extremely beautiful and it's really not sexual t all, its just a icture of venus rising from the sea:

There were a lot of other paintings featuring female models who were not clothed, but the rest were these high maintenance-looking rich chicks or really unfriendly looking rich chicks or goddesses who were about to kill some poor innocent mortal who happen to stumble upon them whilst bathing (fricking artemis... shes such a biatch) but this one differed from the rest because as I said before it wasn't as sexual and the girl isn't looking at the artist... you hvae to see it in real life to get the full effect of it I guess.

And then I learned some AMAZING information that, when I heard it, I couldn't even stand anymore and had ti sit down on the floor because I was FREAKING OUT!!!

Okay so at the museum me and my mom ran into a friend of my moms who was working there and we were talking about seeing celebrities and how weird people get and he was talking about seeing Mick Jagger and I was just like "oh cool" and not really paying attention...

That is, until he said "...Yeah and Elvis Costello comes in here a lot too..."

I believe my exact words were "WHAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTT???????????????????????"

"Oh yeah, he comes here every time hes in town."

"OH MY GOD!!!! So wait, you've, like, SEEN Elvis Costello? HERE?"

"yeah, like three or four times at least."

*slides down wall and sits on floor*

"he kind of just sits in the galleries and stares at teh paintings."

*fangasm*

Me: I'm SO stalking him next time hes in town! I'll spend like every spare moment here. OMG ELVIS COSTELLO!!!! I've been listening to his music since I was like eight years old... When I'm bored in class I hide my ipod behind something and google him and read about the meaning behind his songs... hes on my list of people I want to meet in my lifetime... Oh My God! Ahh!

Mom: Ezra, you're a nerd.

Me: I know I dont care :)

I'm still in shock.

ELVIS COSTELLO.

I was in the same room that Elvis Costello has been in MULTIPLE TIMES.

I wonder if he has ever spent like fifteen minutes staring at Rembrandt's "Lucretia" like I do every time I go there.

Ever since then I've been planning out what I'd say if (WHEN) I meet him :)

I can't even believe it!!!!!!!!!!

ELVIS COSTELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy was just like "you're freaking out over Elvis Costello instead of Mick Jagger?!?!?!?!?!"

But I don't think anyone is even CAPABLE of understanding how much I am freaking obsessed with Elvis Costello.

If I met him it would be even better than the time I shook John O.'s hand (twice). It would be like... the most amazing moment of my life.

I even know what I would get him to sign (my sketchbook and possibly my Hello Kitty purse).

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Okay I could go on and on and on like this forever so I'm just gonna stop now. Goodnight people!

I hate this holiday :P

Happy singles awareness day.

Blargh.

It's like its christmas, but only people in relationships are allowed to celebrate christmas and the rest of us have to just sit there and sulk.

Anyways, I found the greatest picture ever:

I could fully see myself doing that.

Bye. I hope all of your days didn't suck as much as mine :(

THE WORLD IS FULL OF INJUSTICE!!!!!

OMG I HEARD THE MOSTY SICK AND TWISTED THING TODAY!!!!!

SOME SADIST INVENTED UNPOPPABLE BUBBLE WRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THATS SO NOT COOL!!!!!!!

In other news of the unfairness of the world, my sister has a friend over, and I had a chocolate bar and she said I couldn't eat it unless there was enough for everyone and so she took away my chocolate and gave me some dried fruit instead D:

SO NOT THE SAME THING MOM!!!!!!

Do not take away a girls chocolate.

*cries*

So anyway, the snow is finally melting!!!!!!! :D If you stand on the stairs outside my apartment you can actually hear the melted snow trickling down the stairs cuz they're all a little slanted so it does that... I love this time of year when all the snow melts and all the birds come back and its warm enough to leave the house without a billion layers :D

Ok im gonna go read dearblankpleaseblank (which has broken me of my MLIA addiction amazingly!). Bye!

It makes sense, doesn't it?

You know that one song that goes like "I would catch a grenade for you, etc..."?

Is he talking about a Klondike bar?

Word of the day: scandalous

I'm reading the great gatsby in English.
I like it because he uses a lot of good words (the alternate word of the day was "superscilious" because I learned it from that book).
I hate it because I hate all the characters and everything they standfor, and I hate the story too.
Rich people always make me think of the word "scandalous"
a great gatsby-ish example:
"Daisy found Tom and Myrtle doing WHAT in the coat closet at the Buchanan's dinner party?!? Scandalous!!!!"

if only that type of thing would actually happen in that book... It's actually pretty boring. Really boring. Extravagantly boring. It's all about snobby rich people. Except nick. I kind of like nick. At least, I can stand him a little more than daisy, Jordan, Myrtle and especially Tom. I hate Tom so much. He's such a dick, flaunting his affair in front of everyone, not caring if daisy finds out because he knows she's too scared of him to do anything, breaking Myrtle's nose because she said daisy's name... Myrtle the mistress, daisy the divorcee (at least if to
wasn't so scary she would be), Tom the tool, nick the narrator... And gatsby the great. I don't quite see what's so great about gatsby. But then again, I skipped ch. 1 because I was reading flatland (such a weird book... It's soo good!!!!!!).
I drew the billboard with dr. T. J. Eckleberg's eyes on it and in thinking about making a copy of it for my English teacher.

Oh speaking of which, I met with an art/Spanish teacher from my middle school today (ms. Elissa... Jude knows her) and asked her for feedback on my drawings. She teaches at MCAD too so I thought shed be a good person to talk to... She said I should look into illustration (like for stories and stuff) because thats kind of what I do-drawings inspired by scenes in books, lines in sings, movies... She also mentioned graphic design, which has always sounded like fun to me. She had a lot of good advice. She also recommended that I start trying to draw from life instead of memory or still lifes or whatever. She said start by doodling my hand when I'm just sitting there bored... She said it always looks awful at first but that it's a good thing to try and do... She said a lit of stuff and I won't write it all down here, but the point is it was pretty cool :)
ok now I am going to bed. Goodnight everyone!!!

HITLER OTTERS ARE ATTACKING THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

So, I spent the day with the wonderful Jude Rosenberg :D

We encountered a Hitler otter.

But it's okay, we survived.

We baked A LOT of cookies, and some s'mores too :)

And I received an orange star-shaped crayon.

Now, I'm listening to "the saltwater room" by Owl City and sitting in my spinny chair and feeling generally content with life :)

Monday tomorrow!!!

Here's a strange fact about me: I like monday mornings. They make me feel optimistic :)

Okay thats all for tonight imma go. bye!

Good morning starshine! The earth says hello!!!

I woke up on this most lovely of mornings to the sound of my mom watching "the Tudors". Right now she is cooking some delicious-smelling potatoes and while I wait for them to be finished cooking, I thought I'd blog a little.
I recently switched beds with my mom (something that happens often in my house) and now I sleep on the top bunk.
Here's a breif description of our sleeping arrangement:
me, my mom and my sister live in a one-bedroom appartment, but we use the bedroom for our books (we have A LOT of books), so we all sleep in the living room. We have bunk beds and a king-sized bed, and we switch beds constantly. Except my sister, who, for some reason, loves to sleep on the floor.
Anyway, it is really really cool to have the top bunk.

In other news, I am hanging out with the wonderful Jude Rosenberg later today!!!!!! :D I am quite excited :).

Word of the day: voluptuous

This is such a great word and it's dreadfully under-used. I found it when I was reading a thesaurus in English (yes I read thesauruses (thesauri?) for fun) along with the word "melancholy" but that words not a good word for today because today I'm trying to lean towards the positive side. Can you all make me extremely happy and use the word "voluptuous" in a sentence today or tomorrow? Hugs and kisses to you all!!!!!!!
Next time someone calls themself fat, say "you're not fat you're voluptuous!!" (voluptuous is a synonym for "curvy" and also for "sexy" so it would be a good thing to say).
Say to someone "dayum girl you are lookin nice and voluptuous in that outfit". As I said, it's a synonym for "sexy"!
Plus the antonyms were things like "bony, pointy, anorexic, skinny" and other unpleasant-sounding words, so it makes being curvy sound a lot better!!!
See how great of a word it is?!? Just try saying it out loud. "voluptuous". Now say it in a different tone of voice. "volllluptuous!!!!". It's quite fun to say :D

I would like to say that you are all awesome! (especially if your name is Jude, but even of your name isn't Jude you're still awesome)
I am up to 5 followers now which isn't exactly 50 but it's better than 0 so yay!!! :)
I feel optimistic :) goodnight everyone!
